We are really excited about the Super Match hooks from Varivas. It comes in a broad range of sizes which are well suited to both a wide range of bait options and target species.
The smallest sizes 8 and 6 are perfect for scratching about on days when every bite counts whilst the bigger sizes are ideal for general fishing. In testing the 4, 2 and 1 were deadly for flatties and the 1/0, 2/0 and 3/0 proved themselves with codling, bass and rays.
The Super Match is made from a standard 1X wire and the Crystal bend is forged to give it increased strength. The Limerick bend also helps improve bait presentation as it prevents the bait from masking the hook point. Talking of the point it is needle sharp and helps to convert bites into hooked fish. Other features are micro barb, a neat round straight eye and a bronzed finish to help with corrosion resistance. Add all this together and the Saltwater Super Match looks set to become a modern classic hook pattern.
